Overview
As a Clinical Lead, you will work closely with our nurses and carers to maintain the highest standards of clinical care and governance in our homes. Supported by our management team, you will ensure our residents receive the best care, meet their needs through excellent nursing and clinical care, and actively contribute to all clinical delivery.
Reports to: Home Manager
Responsibility & Accountability:
Provide leadership, support and supervision for clinical and care staff.
Ensure that the registered Nurse team obtain and sustain the clinical competencies necessary to meet the needs of residents.
To contribute to the training of care staff and other staff, acting as a role model at all times.
Monitor, audit and review the service, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary.
Assist the Home Manager with formal supervision / appraisal of staff members in line with company policy, and with on-going informal assessment of the work of Staff Members, to ensure consistently high standards.
On call duties according to the needs of the home and Home Manager.
Within scope of practice and knowledge, researching, devising and delivering written and verbal training modules and workshops to improve delivery of care.
Provide feedback to Home Manager on any areas of staff improvement.
Support the Home Manager with clinically related aspects of the home including, assessments of potential residents, liaising with commissioners and stakeholders.
Lead team and clinical review meetings.
Work with the Home Manager and QA teams to ensure effective and safe clinical practice is maintained.
To carry out investigations and respond to any complaints or concerns
Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures, legal requirements and relevant codes of practice.
To assist with effective recruitment, performance management and deployment of staff to deliver high quality care and support outcomes for people who use our services.
Liaise with and oversee as required, maintenance contractors and others involved in the maintenance of property, plant and equipment.
Promote the service through effective communication with other organisations, stakeholders such as people who use services, staff, relatives, medical and social care professionals, the regulator staff and the local community.
Promote the home professionally and effectively in the community, maintain private bed occupancy and support corporate marketing.
Ensure that all staff have a focus on excellent customer care to enhance the lives of people who use our services and company's reputation.
Any other duties consistent with the business of the company.
Skills and attributes
Proven clinical experience in a clinical setting.
Strong clinical skillset and confidence to lead the nursing team.
Prior management experience, or experience of leading clinical team.
Ability to make clinical decisions and remain calm under pressure.
A passion for promoting best nursing practice and able to train, support and mentor others.
A desire to encourage positive working relationships within the team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A sound working knowledge of audits, safeguarding, DOLS, CQC and compliance.
Pay: £21.00 per hour
