Hours: Part-time, approximately 14.5 hours per week
Core working hours
- Tuesday: 9:30am–3:00pm
- Thursday: 9:30am–1:00pm
- Friday: 9:30am–3:00pm
These are the expected core hours for the role. However, some flexibility will be required around seasonal periods, school bookings, events and wider business needs. Hours may occasionally be moved or additional hours offered, including some evening and weekend working.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and adaptable Business Support & Customer Service Assistant to provide day-to-day support across our businesses.
The role will normally be based at Future Survival but will support Future Survival, Marie’s Tearoom & Emporium and Future Horizons CIC.
This is a varied position combining administration, customer service, business development and occasional on-site operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and responding to customer emails and inboxes.
- Answering telephone calls and following up missed calls and enquiries.
- Managing and updating bookings.
- General business administration and record keeping.
- Following up customer enquiries and potential bookings.
- Supporting school, group and organisation outreach.
- Helping develop new school and group business.
- Supporting Future Horizons CIC with administration, outreach and information gathering for funding applications.
- Supporting holiday club and operational administration.
- Helping maintain paperwork and records relating to areas such as health and safety, food hygiene, training and other business requirements.
- Providing administrative support for events at Future Survival and Marie’s.
- Helping with front-of-house or counter duties when required, including supporting school groups and events.
- Other reasonable administrative and business-support duties as required.

- Comfortable answering telephone calls and emails.
- Confident using computers and online systems.
- Proactive and willing to follow enquiries through.
- Comfortable contacting schools and organisations.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Happy working in a varied role where priorities can change.
- Willing to provide practical customer or event support when needed.
Previous administration or customer-service experience would be beneficial, although we are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, organisation and willingness to learn.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
