Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role requires a reliable, experienced driver with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, predominantly with flatbed loads, ensuring compliance with all relevant road safety regulations.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure transportation of items.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed loads.
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence is essential.
- Experience in driving flatbed vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and work independently under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous.
