The Black Boy Inn is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Manager to support our General Manager in ensuring our historic inn continues to feel like a home away from home for every guest.
As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, helping to lead our team while delivering exceptional guest experiences in a busy, fast-paced environment.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will:
- Support the overall day-to-day management of the Inn.
- Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house team, creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of customer service and hospitality.
- Oversee smooth shift operations in a busy and fast-paced setting.
- Work closely with the kitchen team, management and suppliers to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Manage stock control, stocktakes and ordering.
- Assist with administrative duties, including operational paperwork.
- Be available to provide occasional out-of-hours support for emergency situations when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a strong background in hospitality, food and beverage operations.
- Has previous supervisory or management experience.
- Is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
- Is confident leading and motivating a team.
- Can remain organised and calm under pressure.
- Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Is flexible, reliable and enjoys working in a hands-on management role.
