Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
- Manage food safety procedures, including hygiene standards and proper storage of ingredients
- Oversee food presentation to ensure visual appeal and consistency
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to meet service requirements and customer expectations
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient ordering, and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Train junior staff members in food preparation techniques and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all kitchen activities
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership skills in managing teams
- Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food presentation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP)
- Experience in managing kitchen operations, including stock control and menu development
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous serving experience is advantageous but not essential; however, familiarity with customer service standards is beneficial
