This is a 2-month contract position with a local authority, aimed at supporting families with children and young people aged 0-18 in Worcestershire. The role involves collaborating with professionals and agencies to ensure positive outcomes and life chances for children and young people. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and reviewing family needs to provide timely support that addresses both current and future requirements.

Conduct direct work and support for children, including pre-schoolers, and their parents or carers as part of an assessment, plan, or review.

Encourage and empower parents/carers to take responsibility for meeting the needs of their children.

Enhance parents' and carers' understanding of child development and needs.

Provide parenting support to assist in the care of children within their families.

Work with families at high risk of breakdown to provide necessary support.

Ensure child safety through effective assessment and planning processes.
Experience:
-
Significant experience in a similar service area, working with children or families needing additional support.

Proven experience in collaborating with families and networks to help individuals achieve their identified outcomes.

Practical skills in directly working with children, young people, and families to advise, support, and engage them in reaching their goals.

Ability to develop positive relationships and work in partnership with multiple agencies.

Experience in understanding and working with young people who may have social and emotional difficulties and exhibit complex behaviors, while supporting the entire family.
Qualifications:

Education level equivalent to NVQ 3 in a relevant field (Childcare, Early Years, Social Care, or equivalent experience).

Knowledge of family support services and activities offered by various organizations and agencies.

Working hours: 35 hours per week
