We are seeking a reliable, responsible and safety-focused Minibus Driver to join the team at a highly regarded independent school in West Sussex.

The role
You will be responsible for transporting pupils safely between designated collection points in the Worthing to Eartham area and the school.
Each morning, you will collect the school minibus, travel to Worthing where the route begins, and collect registered pupils from designated pick-up points before bringing them to school for the start of the school day at 8.15am.
In the afternoon, you will transport pupils back towards Worthing, dropping them at their designated locations to meet their parents.
The role would suit someone who is calm, dependable, friendly and genuinely enjoys working around young people.
Key responsibilities
- Safely operate the school minibus on designated routes.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing and appropriate supervision of pupils throughout each journey.
- Complete basic vehicle safety checks before each shift.
- Maintain a professional, friendly and approachable manner when interacting with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Report any safeguarding concerns or incidents appropriately and in line with school procedures.
- Comply with the school's safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct.
- Participate in safeguarding training as required.
About you
You will need:
- A clean and current driving licence.
- A reliable and responsible approach to work.
- Good communication skills.
- A caring and professional attitude towards children and young people.
- A strong commitment to pupil safety and wellbeing.
- Willingness to undertake safeguarding training.
- An Enhanced DBS check – this will be arranged by the school following appointment.
Previous experience working with children or in a school transport role would be desirable, but is not essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious and takes pride in providing a welcoming and professional service to pupils.
