Overview
We are seeking a talented Bistro Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high performance levels
- Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and presentation of all dishes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
- Develop new recipes and menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences with Proprietor direction.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with team management capabilities
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and management
- Previous experience in food production and restaurant/Bistro service is highly desirable
- A passion for hospitality, serving guests, and delivering outstanding culinary experiences
