Tri Group Ltd are a leading specialist provider of Industrial & Commercial door services across Scotland.
Well-established, for nearly 40 years we have serviced customers from our offices and manufacturing facility in Glasgow.
Within our Mechdoors division, which specialises in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance of industrial doors, we have the opportunity for a Trainee Engineer to join our team.
You would be joining an independent Scottish family business with over a third of employees having more than 20 years’ service with the company.
With our in-depth knowledge and experience of a wide range of industrial doors, we provide full in-house technical guidance and support for all our site-based engineers.

The roles will involve:
- Working alongside an experienced Industrial Door Engineer.
- Assisting with the on-site installation, repair and maintenance of manual and electrical industrial doors including roller shutters, steel doorsets, sectional doors, high speed doors, loading bays, dock levellers, automatic gates and barriers.
- Assisting with mechanical and electrical installation, fault finding and repair.
- Sites predominantly within central Scotland, and occasionally elsewhere within the UK.
- Normal working hours Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 4.30pm and Friday from 8.00am to 3.30pm.
- Regular overtime, particularly involving early starts and late finishes.
- Occasion overtime at the weekends and overnight, to suit the needs of our customers.
- The opportunity to progress and become an Industrial Door Engineer.
The right candidate will have:
- A basic interest in engineering.
- Previous experience of physical site work.
- A clean and current driving licence.
- A willingness to apply themselves to new opportunities.
The company will provide an attractive package including:
- A basic rate of pay starting between £11 - £13 per hour.
- 39-hour basic working week.
- Overtime rates where applicable, paid at time + half or double time, apply to both site time and travelling time.
