Housing Officer
Head Office base: Harborne B17, to work across locations incorporated as part of New Outlook Housing Association
Hours: 35-hours per week (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)
Salary: £28,000 per annum

A position has opened for an experienced Housing Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a positive, can-do attitude, who can build effective relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
You should have excellent communication skills, and should demonstrate a caring, compassionate nature alongside a strong work ethic. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident and capable when lone working. The ability to remain flexible, proactive, and person-centred in your approach is essential.

The purpose of the role is to provide an effective housing management and tenancy sustainment service that supports tenants throughout their tenancy journey, promotes tenancy sustainability, encourages independence and ensures compliance with tenancy agreements, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
The post holder will support tenants living within specialist housing schemes and general needs accommodation, delivering a wide range of housing management, tenancy sustainment, resident engagement activities, repairs reporting, anti-social behaviour and complaints awareness.
As the Housing Officer, you should have:
- Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 2 or 3 qualification, or equivalent, or willing to work towards achieving an appropriate housing qualification.
- Experience working within housing management, tenancy sustainment, tenancy support, neighbourhood management, or a similar housing-related role.
- Experience conducting tenancy/welfare visits.
- Experience supporting vulnerable people with diverse needs.
- Experience managing a varied caseload and competing priorities.
- Experience working with partner agencies, local authorities and external stakeholders.
- Experience using IT systems, and Microsoft packages Word and Excel.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and case notes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and risk management.
- Awareness of the Decent Homes Standards.
- Knowledge of social housing legislation and regulation.
- A full UK Driving Licence and use of a car for business purposes.
