Support Worker – No Personal Care. No evenings. No weekends.
SiLS is a well-established local organisation that has been supporting people across Bristol since 2000. We currently support almost 200 people and are one of the largest providers of long-term outreach support in the Bristol area.
We are looking for a caring, reliable and professional Support Worker to join our growing team.
About the role
You will support adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities and age-related support needs.
We do not provide personal care. Instead, you will help people live more independently, build confidence and improve their quality of life. This might include support with:
- Managing a home and daily routines
- Budgeting, shopping and attending appointments
- Accessing the community and developing social connections
- Building confidence and independent living skills
- Maintaining physical and emotional wellbeing
As the role involves travelling between clients across Bristol, access to your own transport is essential. A car, electric bike or road-legal scooter may be suitable.
Who we are looking for
Previous experience of supporting adults is helpful, but it is not essential. More importantly, we are looking for someone who:
- Genuinely wants to improve people’s lives
- Is caring, patient and respectful
- Can encourage independence without taking over
- Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Communicates professionally with clients, colleagues and other agencies
If you do not have previous experience but believe you have the right values and personal qualities, we would still be very pleased to hear from you.
We encourage applicants to include a short covering letter or note, particularly if they have limited experience. This helps us understand why they are interested in the role and what they could bring to our team.
Why work for SiLS?

- Varied and rewarding work
- Full-time or flexible part-time opportunities

Part-time hours are also available, with considerable flexibility to agree a working pattern that suits you and the service.
