Aims and purpose of the role:
This is a rewarding and dynamic role where you will make a meaningful difference by empowering children, young people and adults, to live connected, independent and fulfilling lives. As a Coach4Independence in 4Eden’s Kids4Eden and Skills4Eden groups, you will take a person-led/strengths-based coaching approach, supporting groups to develop life skills, build relationships and engage actively in their communities.
You will play a key role in enabling people to live their best lives – building confidence, exploring interests and achieving personal goals through group-based coaching.

Key Responsibilities
1. Coaching & Development
Facilitate co-produced, person-led activities with groups, supporting them to develop social skills, independence, confidence and life skills
Enable participation in community activities, social opportunities and meaningful experiences
Support individuals to explore talents, interests and employment or educational opportunities
Facilitate teamwork and relationship-building within community group settings
2. Daily Living & Wellbeing
Promote healthy lifestyles, including nutrition, physical activity and emotional wellbeing
Support development of practical life skills (e.g. routines, organisation, self-care where required)
Encourage independence while respecting individual choice, dignity and rights
3. Community Engagement
Enable individuals to build friendships, networks and sense of belonging in their communities
Promote inclusion and active citizenship by supporting attendance at local activities and events
4. Risk Management & Safeguarding
Promote positive risk-taking while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of individuals
Enable problem solving, complete risk assessments, incident reports and implement proactive support strategies
Maintain strong safeguarding practices, confidentiality and professional standards
5. Communication & Teamwork
Maintain accurate, clear and timely records
Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals
Work collaboratively within a team to deliver high-quality, consistent support
6. Professional Practice
Uphold dignity, respect and individual rights at all times
Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and development
Maintain professional boundaries and contribute to team culture
Person Specification –
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
A compassionate, proactive, flexible, respectful and calm approach with commitment to empowering independence
Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships, engage individuals and groups
Experience in, or willingness to learn health, wellbeing & nutrition
Experience in, or willingness to learn, personal care and medication (where applicable)
Experience in, or willingness to learn, supporting diverse needs, including learning disabilities and neurodiversity
Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, duty of care and good professional practice
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and adapt to varied environments
Understanding of person-led and strengths-based approaches
Knowledge of community inclusion, equality and diversity
Commitment to professional standards and continuous learning
Transferrable skills
Current full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle (advantageous)
