The Role
We're looking to recruit 3 Bank Residential Support Workers to join our team.
We're looking for reliable and flexible staff who can cover day shifts, sleep-ins and waking night shifts across our residential homes.
As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with their day-to-day needs, helping to provide a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
Shift Hours
Bank staff must be flexible and available to cover a range of shifts, including:
- Day shifts: 8:00am–8:30pm
- Day shifts with sleep-ins: 8:00am–11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in, finishing at 8:30am the following morning
- Waking night shifts: 8:00pm–8:30am
Shifts will be offered based on the needs of the home and staff availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, supervision and emotional support to children and young people.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote stability and positive outcomes.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments and recreational activities.
- Promote independence, life skills and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports and handovers.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to meet the individual needs of young people.
- Support children with emotional and behavioural needs using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years.
- Experience working with children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Flexibility to cover day shifts, sleep-ins and waking night shifts.
- Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
