We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, motivated and enthusiastic individual to come and join our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team at NUH. We are seeking to recruit an Occupational Health Technician to work in our small team to help support us to deliver a range of effective high-quality health and wellbeing services for staff at NUH.
Knowledge and experience of Occupational Health in a hospital setting is desirable for this role, otherwise experience in health surveillance and/ or fitness for work medicals across any sector would be considered. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in all aspects of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, a willingness to work flexibility across QMC and City Campus and keen to help deliver and shape our services for the future. There is also a requirement to occasionally work off campus at other sites to deliver services as part of our external contract portfolio.
This role is Monday to Friday and our core hours are 08:00-17:00. The role is offered at 37.5 hours per week, however part-time hours would be considered for the right candidate.
The role will be varied with a mixture of clinical and administrative duties including pre-employment screening, face to face clinics for venepuncture and immunity checks, health screening, health surveillance (including audiometry, spirometry, HAVS), results management, risk assessment of contamination injuries and to provide support to the wider Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team wellbeing initiatives.

We are a friendly team of around 35 staff consisting of doctors, nurses, counsellors, technicians, and admin who work together to deliver an occupational health service to our own Trust and private organisations which we deliver from both Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital sites.
Our department offers this service Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 excluding bank holidays.
