The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Hairdressing Educator to join our talented team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional who is passionate about education and committed to helping apprentices develop the technical skills, professional behaviours and confidence required for a successful career in hairdressing and barbering.
You will deliver engaging, high-quality training and assessment to apprentices both within the academy and during salon-based visits, creating an inspiring and supportive learning experience that enables every learner to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess apprenticeship standards and qualifications in:
- VTCT Hair Professional Level 2 Hairdressing
- VTCT Hair Professional Level 2 Barbering
- Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3 (Creative Artist)
- Plan and deliver engaging learning sessions to both groups and individual apprentices.
- Support learners to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve their qualification and succeed within the industry.
- Create a positive, inclusive and learner-centred environment that encourages participation, confidence and progression.
- Embed Functional Skills and Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare (PDBW) into all learning activities.
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and implement appropriate support strategies to maximise achievement.
- Maintain accurate learner records and complete all assessment documentation in line with awarding organisation and funding requirements.
- Ensure delivery, assessment and learner support activities meet current quality assurance, safeguarding and regulatory expectations, including Ofsted requirements.
- Contribute towards academy performance targets and continuous improvement initiatives relating to learner achievement, attendance, retention and progression.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with apprentices, employers, salon owners and colleagues to enhance the learner experience.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 3 Hairdressing Qualification
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Assessor Award
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching Qualification (AET, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, Cert Ed or equivalent)
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
Essential Experience
- Current and relevant vocational experience within the hairdressing industry.
- Experience delivering training, coaching, assessment or workplace development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good digital and IT skills, including the ability to maintain electronic learner records.
Desirable Experience
- Minimum of two years' experience delivering vocational training, apprenticeships or work-based learning programmes.

Additional Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
