Join our fun friendly team! We are busy family owned car sales operation and are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our friendly family led team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. The work principally involves the preparation and servicing of used cars prior to sale and in servicing and repairs to customers vehicles once sold. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential services to our valued customers and would suit a candidate who can organise their own work load within the team. The Car Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring safety and optimal performance. Regular hours with the opportunity for flexibility. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles and Pre Delivery Inspections (PDI) of vehicles prior to sale
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately and efficiently
- Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Assemble and replace parts as needed, ensuring proper fit and function
- Carry out maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, tyre rotations, and fluid top-ups
- Repair or replace faulty components
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
- Assist in the assembly of vehicle components during repairs.
- Maintain records of services performed on each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Undertake test drives and evaulation of part exchange vehicles.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Car Mechanic or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Proficiency in using tools and diagnostic equipment effectively and safely
- Experience with vehicle assembly, disassembly, and equipment repair processes
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various vehicle models
- Ability to perform light maintenance and servicing work
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering are preferred

Pay: £25,420.00-£42,500.00 per year
