Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, supervising kitchen personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Oversee food production processes to maintain consistency, quality, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Develop and implement innovative menu ideas in collaboration with the culinary team.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control procedures.
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professional development.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant setting.
- Extensive food production and culinary experience, including food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in hospitality service standards.
- Skilled in food presentation, serving, and maintaining high-quality standards under pressure.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and management seamlessly.
- Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
