Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and attentive Waking Night Support Worker to provide essential care and support during overnight hours. In this role, you will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of individuals receiving care, whether in a care home or home care setting. Your presence will offer reassurance and stability through the night, helping clients maintain their routines and feel secure. This position is vital for delivering high-quality support that promotes independence and dignity while maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents or clients throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent needs, providing calm and effective assistance.
- Follow individualized care plans to deliver tailored support aligned with each person’s requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activities, incidents, and any changes in condition.
- Support clients with basic needs such as toileting, medication reminders, or comfort checks as outlined in their care plans.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members during handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Use IT systems to update records, log incidents, and access relevant client information securely.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and emergency services.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and with compassion.
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is highly desirable.
- Valid driving license and ability to drive if required for home visits or transporting clients.
- Proficiency with IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Excellent observational skills to identify changes in clients’ conditions or behaviors during the night.
- Good physical fitness to assist with client mobility or emergency situations when necessary.
