Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the warehouse by ensuring the safe receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of goods. The role is responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, operating warehouse equipment, complying with food safety and health & safety standards, and undertaking ad hoc deliveries and collections, including travel to London, as required by the business.
Key Accountabilities
· Receive, unload and store incoming deliveries safely and accurately.
· Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch in accordance with company procedures.
· Operate counterbalance and reach trucks safely and in line with current legislation.
· Ensure stock is rotated using FIFO principles to maintain product quality.
· Carry out stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records.
· Assist with regular stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies where required.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
· Report damaged stock, equipment faults or health and safety concerns promptly.
· Comply with all Company policies, including Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
· Undertake ad hoc deliveries and collections using Company vehicles, including deliveries to London and surrounding areas.
· Carry out daily vehicle checks before use and report any defects immediately.
· Ensure goods are transported safely, securely and delivered on time.
· Support colleagues and undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
Skills
· Safe operation of counterbalance and reach forklift trucks.
· Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock control.
· Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Safe and confident driving skills with the ability to undertake ad hoc deliveries.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications or Experience Required:
· Current Counterbalance and Reach Truck licences.
· Full UK driving licence (essential).
· Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
· Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties.
· Basic literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to follow procedures.
