Children’s Support Workers provide in‑person support across a range of Kirklees locations. The role cannot be carried out remotely, so you must be able to travel to and from Kirklees as part of your normal working arrangements.
We currently have six children’s homes. Four homes that provide long-term care for up to 4 children aged 9 to 18.Two specialist homes that provide care for children with disabilities and complex health needs. One provides long-term care for up to 6 children aged 11 – 18 and one short breaks home that supports children who usually live with their family or carers with care and support for planned periods. We are currently expanding our homes to include small group living homes caring for up to 2 children at any one time.
About the Role
- Provide safe, nurturing care in a therapeutic, trauma‑informed environment.
- Build warm, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Contribute to care planning, assessments and daily routines.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding at all times.
- Work a rota including sleep‑ins and occasional waking nights.
About You
- Experience supporting children/young people
- Ability to build trusting relationships
- Strong communication skills
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour
- Commitment to achieving the Level 3 Diploma
- Enhanced DBS requirement

For those who have experience of working in children’s homes and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare we have opportunities for senior progression too.
