Overview:
Tanvis Indian Cuisine in Wakefield is looking for a self-motivated freelance Business Development Manager to help grow sales, build brand visibility, and develop new revenue streams across the restaurant. This is a restaurant-based role that also involves travelling to meet corporate and public sector contacts, building relationships and winning new business. You'll need to be confident, personable, and genuinely passionate about sales and hospitality.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow visibility and sales for both existing and new areas of the business.
- Participate in negotiations and discussions around food & beverage partnerships and management agreements.
- Build relationships with local businesses, corporate clients, and organisations to generate catering orders, private events, and repeat bookings.
- Support the team in hitting sales targets and contributing to overall revenue growth.
- Bring fresh ideas and energy to help the business stand out locally.
Concept & Brand Development
- Contribute ideas for restaurant, bar, and dining concepts that strengthen Tanvis brand positioning and market differentiation.
- Ensure new ideas and initiatives align with Tanvis brand standards, guest expectations, and day-to-day operations.
- Help prepare simple concept briefs, business cases, and presentations for approval where new initiatives are proposed.
Commercial & Financial Support
- Review financial performance including P&Ls, ROI, and revenue trends to spot opportunities for improvement.
- Support annual budgeting, revenue-enhancement initiatives, and performance-improvement efforts.
- Support the rollout of dining loyalty schemes and promotions.
Marketing & Digital Presence
- Work with agency partners to create campaigns that drive table bookings, and takeaway orders.
- Help lead digital strategy to grow Tanvis's presence across website, social media, and online platforms.
- Help organise photoshoots, events, and promotional activity.
- Respond to social media enquiries promptly and professionally.
Supplier & Systems Support
- Maintain and manage supplier price files, rebate schedules, and purchasing documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of systems, reporting, and supply chain processes.
- Manage inventory system updates and stock item maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in hospitality sales, business development and restaurant marketing.
- Genuine passion for sales, hospitality, and food & beverage.
- Confident, personable, and comfortable travelling and meeting clients face-to-face.
- Good understanding of the corporate and private dining market.
- Comfortable analysing sales figures, ROI, and basic commercial reports.
- Experience with social media and digital marketing platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube.).
- Able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, creative environment and stay calm under pressure.
- Results-driven with a track record of growing sales and customer numbers.
