Rope Access Technician / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative Job Overview
Ultra Worx is seeking a skilled, practical and motivated Rope Access Technician / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our growing team on a full-time PAYE basis.
We are looking for someone who is not only qualified in rope access, but also confident carrying out a wide range of general maintenance and installation tasks. The ideal candidate will be a capable all-round handyman who is comfortable using tools, solving problems and working on varied projects across the UK.
This is a road-based role involving regular travel and occasional working away from home. Accommodation and transport will be provided for away work.

- Leak investigations
- Facade and structural maintenance
- Bird netting, spikes and pest prevention systems
- High-level cleaning and window cleaning
- Signage, lighting and specialist installations
- Fall protection and access systems
- Compliance inspections
- Reactive and emergency maintenance

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out rope access operations safely and efficiently in line with IRATA procedures
- Complete general maintenance, repair and installation tasks
- Carry out roofing repairs, gutter maintenance and leak investigations
- Perform facade and structural inspections and repairs
- Install bird netting, spikes and other pest prevention systems
- Carry out high-level cleaning and window or facade cleaning
- Install signage, lighting and architectural components
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and competently
- Complete reactive maintenance and emergency repair works
- Follow RAMS, site procedures and health and safety requirements
- Travel to sites throughout the UK
- Work away from home when required
- Work independently and as part of a team
Essential Requirements
- IRATA Level 1,2 or 3 qualification
- Valid CSCS Card
- Good general handyman and maintenance skills
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Previous experience working at height
- Strong understanding of health and safety
- Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding environments
- Reliable, flexible and willing to travel
- Comfortable working away from home
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
- IPAF Licence
- PASMA Certification
- Fit to Work Medical
- Roofing or guttering experience
- Construction or property maintenance experience
- Experience installing bird prevention systems
- Experience with facade, window or high-level cleaning
- Experience carrying out inspections and reporting

This is a mobile role, and candidates must be happy to spend significant time working on the road. Projects may require early starts, overnight stays and occasional weekend work.
