Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and thorough Gym Cleaner to join our team from Friday to Sunday. As a 24/7 fitness facility, maintaining a spotless, hygienic, and welcoming environment is our top priority. The successful candidate will work split shifts covering both day and night hours (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM and 12:00 AM – 2:00 AM) to ensure the gym remains pristine around the clock. This role is perfect for a reliable individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of high-level sanitation in a fitness environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deep Clean Changing Rooms & Facilities: Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sanitise toilets, showers, sinks, and changing areas.
- Mirror & Glass Maintenance: Polish and clean all mirrors and glass surfaces across the gym floor and studio spaces to keep them streak-free.
- Floor Care: Vacuum, sweep, and mop all gym floors, functional training zones, and communal areas.
- Waste Management: Frequently empty all waste and recycling bins, replacing liners to ensure the gym stays tidy and odour-free.
- Whole Gym Sanitisation: Wipe down and sanitise gym equipment, high-touch surfaces, and weights to maintain strict hygiene standards.
- Shift Adherence: Strictly adhere to the split-shift schedule (Day: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM and Night: 12:00 AM – 2:00 AM) to guarantee the facility is immaculate for members 24/7.
- Safety & Compliance: Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, follow health and safety procedures, and report any equipment maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial roles, or gym environments is preferred, but full training will be provided.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, floor maintenance, and chemical safety is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively during short, high-impact shifts.
- Exceptional attention to detail—especially regarding hygiene in high-traffic wet areas (showers and toilets).
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to commit to both the daytime and late-night shift blocks.
Pay: £12.21-£17.73 per hour
