Complex Healthcare Assistant
**Hours:** 12-hour shifts
**Shift Pattern:** 7:00am–7:00pm, including alternate weekends
**Sleeping Nights:** 7:00pm–7:00am
We are looking for a **compassionate, reliable and experienced Complex Healthcare Assistant** to provide high-quality, person-centred care to an individual living with **Cerebral Palsy and complex care needs**.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is confident supporting individuals with significant physical and clinical care requirements and who is committed to promoting dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and attentive care, including:
* Supporting an individual with **Cerebral Palsy** with all aspects of daily living.
* **PEG feeding** and associated care, following appropriate training and care plans.
* **Airway/respiratory support**, including secretion management and suctioning, where trained and competent.
* **Epilepsy care**, including recognising and responding appropriately to seizures and following the individual's epilepsy management and emergency care plan.
* Safe use of **hoisting and moving & handling equipment**.
* Personal care and continence support.
* Supporting with repositioning and maintaining comfort.
* Monitoring the individual's wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns.
* Following medication, health and safety, infection control and emergency procedures as required.
* Maintaining accurate care records and communicating effectively with family members and the wider care team.
* Promoting choice, dignity, independence and a good quality of life at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in **complex care** or willing to undertake comprehensive training.
* Confident or willing to be trained in **PEG feeding, suctioning, epilepsy care and hoisting**.
* Caring, patient, calm and compassionate.
* Reliable and able to work independently.
* A good communicator with a professional and respectful approach.
* Comfortable working **12-hour day shifts and sleeping nights**.
* Flexible and able to work **alternate weekends**.
* Committed to providing consistent, high-quality care.
Full training and competency assessment will be provided as appropriate to the role and individual care needs.
