Your new role
The Payroll Data Analyst will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to the payroll team.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience working with payroll systems.
Payroll Data Management (Primary Focus)
- Process and upload payroll and HR data files into payroll and payroll related systems
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity in the payroll and payroll ancillary systems/
- Support regular and ad-hoc data uploads (e.g., new starters, changes, leavers, benefits updates)
- Perform data validation checks and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing
- Assist in maintaining Payroll HRIS workflows, templates, and data structures
- Produce standard and ad-hoc payroll reports (e.g., headcount, payroll variance, absence, overtime)
- Support data reconciliations between HR, payroll, and finance systems
- Assist in system testing, upgrades, and process improvements
Payroll Support
- Support the preparation and processing of monthly payroll cycles
- Upload and review data from Time & Attendance systems
- Assist with payroll checks and reconciliations prior to finalisation
- Handle basic payroll queries from employees, escalating complex issues
- Support off-cycle payments and adjustments as required
- Assist with year-end activities (e.g., P60s, P11Ds preparation support)
- Maintain payroll documentation and audit trails
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate regular payroll reports for stakeholders
- Assist in analysing payroll data trends
- Support monthly reporting packs for Finance and HR
- Identify data inconsistencies and recommend improvements
Compliance & Process Support
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and data governance standards
- Maintain confidentiality of employee data at all times
- Follow payroll and HR procedures to ensure audit readiness
