Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance freight transportation, primarily focusing on delivering goods via curtains or box trailer various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance with road regulations. Duties
- Operate f HGV Class 1 lorries in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring accurate and secure loading/unloading
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs throughout each shift
- Comply with all traffic laws and company policies during transit
- Assist with the securement of cargo on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
- Follow scheduled routes and adapt to changing delivery requirements as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with cargo securement and vehicle checks
- Good organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Ability to work independently over long distances, often in varying weather conditions
- Nice-to-have skills include prior delivery driver experience and familiarity with route planning software
