Role Overview
As an Assembly Operator in our Through-Hole team, you’ll assist in the manufacture and assembly of printed circuit boards, ensuring high standards of quality, productivity, and efficiency. The role requires assembling of PCBs either by hand or machine, interpreting engineering build packs, and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Available shifts: -
Day: 07:45 – 16:45 Mon – Thurs, 06:00 – 16:45 Fri.
Late: 13:00 – 22:00 Mon – Thurs, 13:00 – 19:00 Fri
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the flow of operations by communicating production status, requirements, and any issues to the next stage in the process.
- Meet production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Identify and resolve production problems while continuously seeking process improvements.
- Assemble PCBs by hand or using machines according to technical specifications.
- Utilise hand tools to pre-form components as required.
- Perform soldering work in compliance with IPC standards to ensure high-quality product.
- Interpret engineering build packs accurately to follow assembly instructions.
- Clean PCBs using the relevant equipment to maintain product quality and integrity.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with workplace safety regulations.
- Support other areas of production as required
About you
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in circuit board manufacturing or a similar production environment. Through-hole soldering would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Communication skills, both speaking and reading/writing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and detail orientated environment.
- Previous experience in circuit board assembly
- Familiarity with IPC standards for soldering and electronic assembly
