Spillard Safety Systems is a market leader in vehicle safety systems, and we now require a Warehouse / Stores Operative to join the team.
You’ll have experience working in a fast-paced stores environment, picking and packing equipment for our team of engineers as well as our customers.
You’ll also support goods-inwards activity and product testing to help ensure quality is maintained at all times.
The Role
This role supports the day-to-day running of the warehouse and store’s function, helping ensure products are received, tested, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
You will play an important part in keeping stock movements accurate, supporting our engineers and customers, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Warehouse & Stores Activity
- Perform picking and packing tasks within the warehouse
- Ensure products are picked, packed, and shipped in a timely and accurate manner
- Pick stock by location and prepare equipment for engineers and customers
- Support workshop activities as required
Goods Inwards & Stock Control
- Assist with goods-inwards processes, including product testing before storage
- Maintain accurate records of products entering and leaving the business
- Ensure all products arrive and leave in good condition
- Report faults, damaged items, or stock concerns promptly
Housekeeping & Safety
- Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and safe
- Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately
- Follow safe working practices when handling products, equipment, and materials
- Support a quality-focused approach across warehouse and stores activity
What Success Looks Like
- Orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time
- Goods-inwards activity is completed carefully, with products checked and tested before storage where required
- Stock movements and records are kept accurate and up to date
- The warehouse remains clean, organised, and safe
- Faults, damaged items, or stock issues are reported promptly

About You
You will be reliable, organised, and comfortable working in a busy warehouse or stores environment.
You should be able to work independently as well as part of a team, with a practical approach and good attention to detail.
Experience with warehouse activities, picking by location, stock handling, and goods-inwards processes would be helpful for this role.

- Full UK driving licence, as the role may involve occasionally delivering parts to engineers or collecting parts from site
Desirable:
- Knowledge of SAGE 50 software, although training can be provided
- Forklift licence and experience

Job details
Hours
8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch. Start times are set by the business and may fall between 6:00am and 8:30am, with shift patterns remaining generally stable. Quarterly weekend stock takes may be required, with overtime paid.
