Learning Disability Community support worker
Salary: £12.71/hour + travel reimbursement
Basis: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - East Hertfordshire, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield
Hours: 15-25 hours per week. Hours are variable per day, dependent on group activities and location.
Guideposts is a UK based charity working with people in local communities, to help them access the support, opportunities and skills they need to overcome social challenges, improve their wellbeing and change their lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Friendship Scheme team as a Community Support Worker in Ware and surrounding areas.
You will provide direct support to small groups of adults with learning disabilities and enable them to access community leisure facilities and activities in the day and evenings. Administration and planning can take place at our offices in Ware or from home.
The Guideposts Friendship Scheme support adults with learning disabilities to meet new people and develop meaningful relationships through a wide range of services supporting adults with learning disabilities, including one-to-one, regular social groups, outings and events. The scheme currently operates in St Albans, Harpenden, Stevenage and North Hertfordshire.
Our successful Support Worker will:
- Deliver all aspects of individuals support plans including personal care and manual handling where appropriate
- Assessment of service users’ needs and accumulate and record knowledge of personal circumstances
- Act as a key worker for individuals or a small number of service users and compile reports as appropriate including reporting the impact of services for individuals and the meeting of outcomes and goals

In return you will receive:
- Pension scheme: Guideposts will contribute 6% of your salary when you contribute 3%.
