The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set. You will promote positive behaviour, maintain a productive learning environment and provide feedback to teaching staff on students' progress and conduct.
When not covering lessons, you will support students through small group interventions, assist with school activities and contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Be confident managing groups of students and maintaining high standards of behaviour
- Possess excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Be proactive, adaptable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Be considering a future career in teaching or have a passion for supporting young people's education

- Have experience working with children or young people
- Be able to confidently lead a classroom and manage behaviour effectively
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
