Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
The University has embarked on a Finance Transformation Programme set to bring about huge changes to the Finance functions across Departments. As a result, we are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible person to join our friendly accounts team as soon as possible. The role holder will be key in aiding the successful transition, along with continued development of our processes. Our ideal candidate will have broad experience of finance-based functions. Familiarity with the way the University works is an advantage, but if you have used other systems and have experience of MS Excel, we will teach you how to use both current and future University's systems. You will find the role interesting and diverse, with the opportunity to work on your own initiative within the scope of the role, effecting a positive impact.
The role includes a full range of accounts duties in Payables, Receivables and General Ledger, with other tasks relating to research grants and payroll. We'd love you to bring good communication skills with patience, tact, diplomacy and commitment to not only supporting the team, but also to help provide a first point of enquiry for staff, students and suppliers seeking accounts-related information, help and guidance.
The Team often work with high volumes, and therefore the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst staying accurate and paying attention to detail is vital. All members of the team work well to support each other, especially during busy periods.
You will have GCSE English and Maths, Grade 4 or 5 (Grade C) or above. Additionally, AAT Intermediate, or equivalent is desirable.
In return, you will receive the following:
Generous paid annual leave including bank holidays
Defined benefit pension scheme
Enhanced family friendly policies
Access to a dedicated Personal and Professional Development team
