Join the Acute Rescue Team (ART) at NUH, delivering rapid, senior support to acutely unwell and deteriorating patients across the City hospital Campus. You will provide out-of-hours clinical leadership and cross-specialty support on a dedicated 1:5 ART rota alongside daytime hours working clinically in the Specialty Receiving Unit.
The role offers an 80% clinical / 20% leadership split, combining:
Daytime work in the Specialty Receiving Unit
A 1:5 out-of-hours rota (Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday 16:30–02:30 shifts)
Key involvement in the Hospital 24 service
Alongside frontline care, you’ll develop your leadership skills through teaching, quality improvement, and service development projects, with dedicated support to design and lead your own initiatives.

Post holders will be expected to maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, participate in audits, attend departmental meetings, and contribute to training others.

The successful candidate will hold at least part 1 of MRCP, ideally full MRCP and have at least 12 months of NHS experience working at CT level as a minimum.
You will have a minimum of four years of post graduate experience including a broad range of experience in clinical medicine in an acute inpatient setting.
This role will support you:
- To increasingly work towards independent practice at Registrar level, leading ward rounds, assessing patients, making decisions etc. with Consultant support and supervision available at all times
To build upon postgraduate clinical experience To develop further expertise in the management of the acutely deteriorating patient
To gain experience and familiarity in identifying and managing a wide variety of medical conditions
To build a strong CV in advance of an application for speciality training
To master a number of procedural techniques
To hone communication skills with patients, relatives and colleagues
