About the Role
You will join an audit leadership team and take ownership of an existing portfolio of varied, high-quality clients across multiple sectors. Day-to-day, you will drive quality, manage capacity and resource, and act as the key point of contact for your clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of audit clients, taking ownership of engagement quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
- Sign off on finalised jobs from across the audit department.
- Act as the senior relationship holder for a portfolio of clients, providing strategic insight and proactive business advice.
- Oversee resource planning and assignment across engagements, ensuring teams are well-supported and deadlines are met.
- Drive technical quality and compliance across all audit files, ensuring outputs meet regulatory and firm standards.
- Mentor, coach, and develop audit teams - creating a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
- Contribute to business development and the growth of the audit practice, including pitching for and winning new clients.
- Collaborate with partners and other service line leaders to deliver joined-up advice to clients.
Who We Are Looking For
Above all, we are looking for a proven, commercially-minded leader in the audit space. The right candidate will be:
- A confident, skilled portfolio manager with a proven track record of managing multiple audit clients simultaneously. Taking full responsibility for client relationships, expectation management and other high-level comms.
- Currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level within an audit practice.
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified.
- Experienced in managing and motivating audit teams across varying levels of complexity.
- Technically strong with up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant auditing standards.
- An excellent communicator and relationship builder with a genuine client-first mindset.
- Commercially minded, with an eye for business development and practice growth.
