Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Oversee meal preparation, ensuring all dishes are presented beautifully and served at the correct temperature
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and food safety practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when required
- Previous experience serving customers is advantageous but not essential
