Estimator
Salary: £26,500 To £30,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Kettering
Contract: Permanent | Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
The Role:
This role involves a range of tasks, including preparing estimates, analysing project requirements, reviewing drawings and specifications, maintaining cost data integrity, processing necessary documentation, and supporting project-related meetings and reporting. This role is also responsible for creating and completing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, tender submissions, and Cost Models in a timely manner based on a weekly priority list, ensuring adherence to company processes, procedures, and standards to achieve the Client's requirements and project timescales.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake general administrative duties including scanning, photocopying, filing and record keeping.

Answer incoming calls, take messages, and relay information promptly.

Review new enquiries. Respond to email enquiries and resolve problems within the scope of competency, escalating complex issues to the Estimating Team Leader / Manager or relevant departmental manager.

Reviewing quote requirements and requesting additional information if required.

Reviewing asset plans of existing utilities, and developers’ technical drawings.

Enter and maintain accurate data using Intranet system.

Stay updated on and comply with the latest company processes, procedures, and standards to uphold IGL’s professionalism and reputation.

Liaise with colleagues internally and external companies in a professional manner, and with a problem solution focus and mindset.

Reviewing electricity point of connection plans and offer letters.

Reviewing water terms and plans.
-
Completing water, gas, and electricity network studies.
-
Produce utility route plans and tender designs.
-
Producing multi utility cost models and proposal letters in a timely manner.

Reviewing and producing re-quotes and variations according to Developer requests.

Providing regular updates to the Estimating Team Leader / Manager and Business Development Managers to meet a weekly priority list.

Reviewing colleagues work so constructive feedback can be provided.

Undertake electronic filing regularly to ensure all correspondence is available and can be easily found.

Ability to handle client queries efficiently and provide resolutions.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly.

Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify challenges, and provide well-considered solutions.

Punctual and reliable, demonstrating professional time management in all work activities.

Familiarity with utilities and basic understanding of tendering.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.
