Kilconquhar Castle Estate is seeking a friendly, organised, and customer-focused Receptionist & Guest Services Assistant to join our team. This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in ensuring visitors receive a warm welcome and enjoy a memorable stay. You will assist with new and existing bookings, provide information about the estate and local area, and help guests make the most of the facilities and services available during their visit.
The successful candidate will be confident in a front-facing role, able to communicate professionally with guests, and capable of managing a variety of tasks while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to guests arriving at the estate
- Assisting guests throughout their stay and helping to resolve queries efficiently
- Managing new and existing accommodation bookings
- Providing information on accommodation options, leisure facilities, dining, activities, and local attractions
- Handling telephone calls, emails, and guest enquiries
- Processing guest check-ins and check-outs
- Taking payments and maintaining accurate booking records
- Supporting the wider reception team with daily administrative tasks
- Ensuring reception areas remain professional, tidy, and welcoming
- Working closely with other departments to help deliver an excellent guest experience
What We're Looking For
- A friendly and approachable personality with a genuine passion for customer service
- Confidence when interacting with guests face-to-face, over the phone, and by email
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- A flexible and reliable approach to work
Previous reception, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to provide excellent service. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Hours & Benefits
- Part-time position
- Typically 2–3 shifts per week
- Regular evening and weekend working will be required, between the hours of 7:30 am and 10:00 pm
- Set shifts can be available for the right candidate if required (this would included evenings and weekends)
- Immediate start available
