Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with current regulations and standards.
- Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment and hand tools to assess vehicle performance and identify issues.
- Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to vehicle testing.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to automotive testing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential for the right candidate willing to undergo training.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards within the workplace.
