Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our small family run nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while managing staff, maintaining compliance with childcare regulations, and fostering positive relationships with parents. Responsibilities
- Manage the overall running of the nursery, including staff supervision, scheduling, and operational planning
- Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and education
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programmes that promote learning, development, and well-being
- Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation and health & safety standards
- Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns
- Organise training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, development milestones, and staff rotas
- Oversee the organisation of activities that encourage socialisation, creativity, and physical development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team
- Extensive knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and effective communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; good communication skills are essential
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs or outreach activities

Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
