Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Reach Truck Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating reach trucks to handle materials efficiently within a busy warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to smooth logistics and inventory management, ensuring timely shipping and receiving of goods.
Duties
- Safely operate reach trucks to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse
- utilise Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated areas
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Support the organisation of stock by locating items efficiently within the warehouse
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience operating reach trucks
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting of up to 25kg or more when necessary
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate stock handling and record keeping
- Basic maths skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during loading/unloading processes
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures within a logistics environment
This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations through safe handling of materials and precise inventory management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to safety.
