We are hiring! Treasurer Trustee Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) is looking for a Treasurer Trustee to join our Board and help ensure we remain financially strong, well governed and able to continue supporting local people for generations to come. For more than 100 years, KLS has worked alongside local people in Battersea to reduce poverty, tackle isolation and build stronger communities. Today we support older people, refugee and newly arrived children, young people and families, and we provide a home for other local charities and community groups. About the role As Treasurer, you'll chair our Finance Committee, provide strategic financial oversight and work closely with fellow trustees and our senior leadership team. You'll help the Board understand our financial position clearly, so trustees can make confident, well-informed decisions about the organisation's future. Responsibilities include: Chairing the Finance Committee Reviewing management accounts, budgets and reserves policy Liaising with our external auditors Ensuring sound financial controls are in place Acting as a critical friend to the Board, helping trustees who aren't finance specialists understand financial information What we're looking for We're looking for someone with financial confidence, sound judgement and the ability to explain financial information clearly to others. You might have experience in finance, accountancy, audit, charity finance, grant management or governance. A professional accountancy qualification is welcome but not essential. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve in Battersea. Details Location: Hybrid. Board meetings are in person at our office on Battersea High Street; Finance Committee meetings are held online. Time commitment: 4–8 hours a month, including six Board meetings a year and monthly Finance Committee meetings. Term: Three years, renewable once. This is a voluntary (unpaid) role.
