Role Description
As a Senior Consultant within the Founders HR team, you’ll make a significant contribution to our clients, working with a range of start-ups and scale-ups in the UK (and further afield) on their People and Talent requirements.
You will act as a business partner and trusted advisor to our clients, providing consultation on people strategies including organisational design, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management and succession planning, HR Systems, policy and procedure creation and retention strategies. Managing projects of your own, you will also support the CEO and broader Founders HR team with more complex projects.
Beyond client delivery, you’ll help grow Founders HR’s UK presence through social content, business development, event participation, and marketing initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities
Generalist HR Consulting:
Working with a range of clients and the broader Founders HR consulting team, you will undertake a range of projects, including:
- Assess clients’ existing HR functions and provide recommendations on next steps
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the client organisations to develop a strong understanding of the business environment and to provide strategic HR partnership & coaching
- Advice, management and leading on key Employee Relations processes, including but not limited to Performance Improvement, Terminations, Grievances, Redundancies.
- Develop and implement people strategies (and roadmaps) aligned to clients’ business strategy/objectives
- Serve as an internal expert and point of escalation and resolution for employee relations issues (including the provision of advice on / management of redundancy processes and performance issues, as required)
- Develop and deliver employee handbooks, employment contracts and employee policies as required, ensuring full compliance in the relevant region
- Develop and maintain key HR processes within our client organisations (e.g. performance review cycle, talent management, leadership development, on/offboarding etc.) and manage the reporting of those operational processes using key metrics
- Provision of advice on appropriate HR systems and oversee implementation / ongoing administration where required
- Compensation and Benefits including benchmarking exercises, overseeing the salary review process and providing and implementing Benefits provisions
- Develop and deliver targeted initiatives including those related to strategic planning, change management, talent management and organisational design
- Serve as business partner to the senior leadership teams of our clients
- Culture and engagement processes, including the definition of values and employee engagement surveys
- Attend relevant client company meetings as requested, respond to employee queries and participate in communication channels (such as Slack).
Founders HR Business Development:
You’ll also play a key role in helping us grow:
- Contributing to client proposals and attending client “pitches” as requested
- Assisting in the preparation of content for social media channels (such as linkedin) and contribution to marketing campaigns to improve our brand presence
- Attending scheduled events for networking purposes throughout the year and following up on potential leads
- Contributing to the preparation of marketing material and Founders HR content (ie pitch decks, downloadables)
Requirements
- Extensive generalist HR experience, ideally from tech, startup or scaleup environments and with a preferred focus on Employee Relations, UK employment regulations and compliance
- A hands-on approach, equally comfortable handling day-to-day operations or strategic work
- Experience developing people related guidelines, policies and processes
- A balance of business acumen, pragmatism and empathy
- A curious, grounded and adaptable mindset, you thrive in ambiguity and stay positive
- Excellent written and verbal communication, you simplify complexity and inspire confidence
- Strong organisation and project management skills, you prioritise effectively and deliver quality work.
