THE ROLE
The Unit Lead is a pivotal leadership role at Stratton Court. You will take ownership of a designated unit ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered consistently, that your team is well-supported and motivated, and that each resident's individual needs are at the heart of every decision.
Reporting to the Deputy Manager and Care Home Manager, you will act as a senior clinical and operational lead on shift managing a team of Senior Carers and Care Assistants, overseeing care planning, and serving as a trusted point of contact for residents' families and visiting professionals. This is a role for someone ready to take genuine ownership and make their unit exceptional.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and manage your unit on a day-to-day basis, setting the standard for care quality, culture and team conduct
- Oversee and review individual care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they are current, accurate and truly person-centred
- Supervise, mentor and develop Senior Carers and Care Assistants within your unit
- Manage medication administration, oversee audits and ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements
- Act as the primary liaison for families and external professionals on your unit, building trust and confidence
- Support the Deputy Manager with staffing, rotas and operational planning for your unit
- Monitor and maintain CQC compliance standards within your area of responsibility
- Identify training needs within your team and work with the Home Manager to address them
- Lead end of life care with sensitivity, dignity and the highest professional standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 4 or 5 desirable or actively working towards it)
- Significant experience in a senior care or team leader role within a care home setting
- Confident clinical knowledge — medication management, care planning, risk assessment
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, assured manner under pressure
- Experience in dementia and/or nursing care settings strongly preferred
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with digital care planning systems (training provided)

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 48.0 per week
