About the Role
We are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineers to join our expanding team. One position will be based full time at our A9 project, with occasional travel to our head office in Motherwell. The second position will be based at our head office in Motherwell, with occasional travel to other sites.
In this role, you will work closely with both the Project Manager and the Quality Assurance Manager to uphold the highest standards of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) across all stages of our projects.
You will support compliance with our Integrated Management System (IMS), project specifications, and all relevant industry standards, contributing directly to the delivery of high quality, successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and ongoing improvement of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Project Quality Plans
- Coordinate and carry out site inspections, ensuring accurate records and trackers are maintained
- Ensure all testing is completed on time, with results recorded and documentation up to date
- Verify Material Approval Records (MARs) for all permanent works
- Oversee as-built surveys and drawing production
- Monitor and report on Quality KPIs
- Deliver quality-related toolbox talks and communications
- Share lessons learned across projects and the wider business
- Provide quality updates and advice to the Quality Manager
- Identify risks and escalate quality concerns where necessary
- Support internal and external audits and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and relevant standards
- Apply root cause analysis to resolve non-conformances
- Promote integration of Quality with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices
- Travel from time to time maybe required.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with a background in Construction
- Experience in a Quality Engineer or QA/QC role within civil engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methods
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Experience with audits and Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
- Ability to manage QA/QC documentation (ITPs, MARs, checklists, trackers)
- Experience delivering quality assurance across project lifecycles
- Experience with digital QA/QC tools (e.g., Excel, BIM 360
Desirable:
- Experience with digital QA/QC tools (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and MCHW standards
- Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination
