Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our friendly team on a 0 hour contract, providing flexible cover within our 17-bed nursing unit at our care home.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a care home environment and be confident in delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care to older adults with a range of nursing needs. You will work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive safe, effective, and dignified care at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate residents' care needs.
- Administer medications safely and in line with NMC guidelines and company policies.
- Competently manage syringe drivers.
- Perform catheterisation and ongoing catheter care.
- Assess, treat and monitor wounds, implementing appropriate wound care plans.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in residents' clinical conditions.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records.
- Provide leadership and guidance to care staff during each shift.
- Liaise effectively with GPs, community nursing teams, families and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding procedures and infection prevention and control policies.
- Promote residents' dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing at all times.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC registration.
- Previous nursing experience within a care home or nursing home setting.
- Proven competency in:
- Syringe driver management.
- Catheterisation and catheter care.
- Wound assessment and wound care.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Sound knowledge of medication management and safe administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
- A compassionate, reliable and professional attitude.
Desirable
- Experience caring for older adults with complex nursing needs.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and best practice standards.
- Experience supporting and mentoring care staff.
