Rated as Outstanding in our latest CQC report, and determined to keep it that way, Windy Ridge Care Home is a traditional style seaside house within walking distance of the sea. We have up to 21 residents who require nursing care for physical or mental health conditions, or need end-of-life care. A true home from home, our residents have input in deciding on décor, activities and menus, and are supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.
Role:
To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we are looking for an experienced chef to join us, working 32 hours per week Tuesday's Thursdays Fridays & Saturday, 8am - 4pm. We need caring and compassionate people to help us provide the type of home environment you’d want your own relatives to have.
Ideally with catering experience in a care home or school, you will already hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
You will understand the importance of nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals, for our residents’ physical and mental well-being. Your excellent communication skills and your ability to work well within a team will ensure you compile suitable menus, along with input from other members of staff and the residents’ own preferences, thereby promoting choice, dignity and respect.
You will ensure a quality food service is provided, and will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen, including managing the kitchen supplies, being responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, along with ensuring compliance with the rules of Health & Safety at Work in relation to the kitchen and kitchen practice.
All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults and successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure at their own cost.
Applicants must already be based in the UK. We are not able to offer sponsorship certificates to applicants.
