The Whitechapel Centre’s mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing poverty by providing practical, realistic, tailored support so that each person can find a route out of homelessness, maintain a home and achieve their individual potential.
Our Liverpool City Region Assertive Outreach Service provides direct support to people sleeping rough in St Helens and Halton. The aim of the Service is to reduce rough sleeping by engaging with people and building meaningful and productive working relationships in order to deliver appropriate crisis interventions, support and advice.
We are now looking for an exceptional support worker who has the energy and commitment to make a real difference.
With a good working knowledge of Housing and Welfare Rights, you will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a homelessness, housing or support setting, experience of developing personalised support plans and providing advice and support to people about housing, benefit maximisation, substance misuse problems, domestic abuse, care and mental health services.
Highly organised and with the confidence to work well in a multi-agency setting, you will be comfortable using your own initiative to make informed and effective decisions. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work within a flexible rota which will include some flexibility to cover evenings and weekends by prior arrangement. Car use is essential as the City Region covers a large geographical area.
