The Opportunity
We are looking to appoint Deputy Manager to work alongside and support the Registered Manager at Hurst Hall, our 50-bed residential and dementia care home.
This means you won’t be working in isolation. You will form part of a local management team, working alongside the Registered Manager and fellow Deputy Manager, with the additional backing and support of our regional senior management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Carer, Team Leader or existing Deputy Manager who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and wants to develop their management and leadership experience within a larger care home.
Working within a 50-bed service will give you valuable exposure to the day-to-day operation of a larger home, including staff leadership, care quality, compliance, resident experience and the challenges involved in managing a substantial care team.
You will be given the support, training, resources and practical experience needed to develop your skills and confidence as a Deputy Manager.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play an important part in the leadership of the home and the delivery of consistently high standards of care.
You will:
· Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home
· Lead, support and motivate our team of Senior Carers and Care Assistants
· Help staff perform at their best and maintain consistently high standards of care
· Promote a positive, respectful and supportive culture throughout the home
· Ensure residents are treated with dignity, respect and as individuals
· Support effective staff supervision, mentoring and development
· Help ensure care plans, risk assessments and documentation are maintained to a high standard
· Support the home in meeting CQC Fundamental Standards and other regulatory requirements
· Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, induction and performance management
· Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, staff and external professionals
· Support the Registered Manager in continually improving the quality of the service
Above all, you will help ensure that every decision we make ultimately contributes to providing our residents with the best possible care and experience.
About You
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and understands that good leadership in a care home is about much more than managing tasks.
You should be someone who can lead by example, work as part of a management team and bring the best out of the people around you.
You will ideally have:
· Experience within a residential and/or dementia care home
· Experience as a Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar supervisory role
· A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
· The confidence to lead and support a team of carers and senior staff
· Strong communication and organisational skills
· A positive, flexible and practical approach
· An understanding of CQC requirements and good care practice
· A commitment to staff development and continuous improvement
· A kind, caring and respectful approach towards residents, relatives and colleagues
