We are looking for a passionate Early Years Educator to join our growing Forest School team at Oak Wood. Having opened in January 2026, this is an exciting time to join us as we continue to shape and develop our unique, full-time outdoor provision.
Our permanent Forest School offers all-day preschool education within a beautiful woodland environment, complete with bespoke buildings, fire pit areas, and inspiring natural spaces designed to spark curiosity and adventure.

About the role
As a Forest Early Years Educator, you will work closely with the Forest Senior Educator to support the day-to-day running of our preschool provision (ages 3–4). You will help create a rich, engaging outdoor curriculum where every child can learn through play, exploration, and discovery.
Your role will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, nature-based activities and experiences
- Supporting children’s learning and development through play-led, child-centred practice
- Using approaches such as HighScope and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to support behaviour and wellbeing
- Observing, assessing, and documenting children’s learning journeys
- Building strong relationships with parents and carers
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating outdoor environment
What you’ll need:
- A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years/Childcare
- A genuine passion for outdoor learning (Forest School experience desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to undertake Forest School training
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
- Understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and health & safety in early years
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, positive attitude and a sense of adventure
