Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Roofer/Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This role involves various roofing tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of roofs, as well as general labour duties on construction sites.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, metal, and tiles.
- Follow schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation of roofing structures.
- Assist in the fabrication of roofing components and other construction materials as needed.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
- Perform masonry work when required, including bricklaying and stonework.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials on-site.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing and construction tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Experience in masonry work is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of building principles, including plumb and level techniques.
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the day.
- Welding skills are a plus for certain roofing applications.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues on-site.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
