Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments, clerk-ins, and daily ward rounds for acute and emergency medical admissions.
- Formulate and implement patient management plans under the supervision of senior Consultants.
- Perform standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, chest drains, arterial blood gases).
- Coordinate patient care across clinical teams, ensuring timely ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Active participation in the acute medical on-call rota.
- Lead handovers and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using hospital systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams regarding care plans and discharge planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognised by the GMC.
- Essential: Full GMC registration with a license to practise (or eligible at the time of appointment).
- Essential: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience (Foundation Year equivalent or above), including at least 6–12 months in General/Acute Medicine.
- Desirable: Success in MRCP Part 1 or equivalent postgraduate examination.
- Current ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification.
Pay: £42,478.24-£60,000.00 per year
